EDU PROGRAM
STEAM Education Meets Football
49ers EDU leverages the game of football and Levi’s® Stadium as a platform to expose students to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) concepts and careers. Using the lens of football and a state of the art facility at Levi’s® Stadium helps us create excitement and engagement around these critical learning concepts. To date, the program has impacted more than 500,000 Bay Area youth.

DEEPENING OUR IMPACT
During the 2023-2024 school year, we welcomed students back to Levi’s® Stadium for the first time since the pandemic and re-imagined our field trip approach to give students deeper and more meaningful engagements with our full-time educators.
PROGRAMS

49ERS EDU HOME & AWAY
49ers EDU Home & Away program partnered with Bay Area schools and provided a 3-part series (asynchronous lesson, an in-person visit, and a virtual lesson) to deepen understanding of STEAM concepts and inspire our Bay Area youth to become the next generation of STEAM leaders.

FOLLOW YOUR BLISS AWARD
Presented by Extra Yard for Teachers and the Micron Foundation
Named after sociologist, activist, and educator Dr. Harry Edwards, the Follow Your Bliss Award presented by Extra Yard for Teachers and the Micron Foundation awarded five Bay Area teachers who have led with passion and purpose with a $2,000 grant to use for their school community to make their classrooms a more equitable and inclusive space.

DATA SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL FIELD TRIPS
Presented by Cisco Systems, Inc.
Throughout the 2023-2024 school year, 49ers EDU hosted high school students once a month to learn about how data and analytics impact a gameday. Throughout the series, students heard from the 49ers business strategy and analytics team about how the stadium uses different technology to process data in real-time on game days. Students also attended a demo of the SAP Executive Huddle Suite, a first-of-its-kind live gameday data hub in the heart of Levi’s® Stadium, used to make real-time decisions to create a better fan experience.

STEAM CHAMPIONS
The 49ers EDU STEAM Champions Program recognized charitable partners of 49ers EDU's STEAM programming. This school year, Amazon, Cisco, BlackRock, BNY Mellon Wealth Management, Micron Foundation, Microsoft, Cadence, PG&E Foundation, and PNC Bank, invested in work that advances key STEAM principles while having the opportunity to volunteer and experience the magic firsthand, engage with students, support content delivery, and reinforce our shared commitment to Bay Area youth.

LEVI’S® LEARNING DAYS
Our partners at Levi’s® supported two EDU lessons focused on ways both Levi’s® Stadium and Levi’s® Clothing are striving for a better future in water conservation. Students participated in a hands-on activity exploring different ways to irrigate a football field efficiently.

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS 2024
March 2024, the 49ers Foundation hosted high school students at Levi’s® Stadium for a day of learning directly from industry leaders about educational and occupational pathways that they can pursue post-high school. This event reinforces the idea that no career path is linear and that each challenge and pivot leads you to the next opportunity. This year students learned how Dakota Tyler, a former D1 athlete, pivoted after a career-ending injury to become a science influencer and PhD Candidate. Thank you to our supporting partners from Chevron, BlackRock, Dignity Health, Micron Foundation, Microsoft, PG&E Foundation, The Markkula Foundation, United Airlines and Verizon.

LEGACY BENEFICIARIES
STEM LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE
The 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (SLI) was founded in 2014 in partnership with Chevron, the Silicon Valley Education Foundation and the Santa Clara Unified School District to provide educational opportunities for students interested in pursuing STEM-related careers. The program provides multi-year, year-round academic support, STEM enrichment, skills training, and leadership opportunities to 7th-12th grade students in middle and high school.
CITY YEAR SAN JOSE/SILICON VALLEY
For 15 years running, the 49ers Foundation has partnered with City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley and local AmeriCorps Members to ensure that more of our underserved students graduate from high school and college and are career-ready. City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley’s AmeriCorps Members are near-peer mentors who tutor students in English, Language Arts and Math, mentor students through social emotional learning and coach students to have positive attendance behaviors. City Year AmeriCorps Members motivate students to come to school, ensuring they will reach the 10th grade on track and graduate high school ready for college and a career.
